Licensing & Credentials
What licenses do you have?
Farmer Mountain Homes holds North Carolina licenses for Residential General Contracting, HVAC, and Septic services. Our licenses are currently NC-based, so work in Georgia and South Carolina may be limited depending on the project scope and local requirements. We're always transparent about what we can and can't legally perform before anything begins.
Services
Do you specialize in residential and commercial work?
Our work is primarily residential. On the commercial side, we currently offer HVAC and septic services only.
If your project requires a license we don't hold, we coordinate with trusted, appropriately licensed partners to make sure every part of the job is handled legally and professionally.
Insurance
Are you insured?
Yes - fully. We carry:
Workers' Compensation - protecting our crew in the event of a job-site injury
General Liability - covering accidental damage to your property during the project
Umbrella Policy - an added layer of protection for larger or unforeseen claims

Scheduling, Communication, & Timelines
Who will I communicate with during my project?
You'll work directly with Joseph Farmer, Owner of Farmer Mountain Homes - from the initial estimate through day-to-day on-the-ground work all the way to project completion. No middlemen, no handoffs. Joseph is your single point of contact at every stage. By limiting the number of customers we take on at a time, this allows you to be able to work one on one with Joseph with no middleman.
Scheduling & Timelines
What are your project timelines?
We intentionally limit the number of active projects we take on to ensure every client receives the quality and attention they deserve. Because of this, new projects are currently scheduled 6-8 months out.
How quickly can I get an estimate?
Getting the process started is easy, though - after you reach out, an estimate can typically be scheduled within about a week. From there, we'll get you on the calendar and keep you informed throughout.
Estimates & Consultations
Do you provide free estimates and consultations?
Yes - estimates for HVAC, Septic, and Renovations are always free, always no-obligation. Joseph will visit your property, review the scope of work, and give you a clear, honest picture of what the project involves and what to expect cost-wise. No pressure, no commitment required.
Consultations for custom homes start at $85 for your first appointment to get the ball rolling. You will be provided with an actionable list of the first steps of designing, planning, and starting the building of your home. Whether you decide Farmer Mountain Homes is the contractor for you or not is up to you, no pressure! Your first consultation will help you get your feet under you and give you confidence about the legal and seemingly overwhelming project. What if I am building my own house by pulling Owner/Builder Permits?
We're still here to help! Whether you need to schedule a consultation or hire us job by job, we can assist you through during any step of the process. Reach out about your specific questions and jobs and we will get in touch about pricing and what our current availability is. If you know you will be hiring out certain jobs along the way, try to get in touch with us in advance to minimize delays in getting into your dream home.
